Tragedy as woman set herself and her huaband ablaze in Kano

In what happened to be a great tragedy, a newly wedded woman on 

Tuesday set herself and her husband ablaze over alleged infidelity

The woman was reported to have lit a keg of petrol in their residence, No 54 Middle road, Sabon Gari area which exploded and engulfed them. The who did not die on the spot, according to report, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.

According to reports, the woman accused her husband of infidelity after she heard him conversing with an unidentified lady on phone. She then got angry and lit the keg of petrol which engulfed their home at about 12am on Tuesday.

An eye witness reported that the wife was burnt beyond recognition but the husband was immediately rushed to a nearby undisclosed hospital where he later died.

Another eye witness, Mr. Emma Okorie who identified the late husband as Emeka, disclosed that the late couple hailed from Anambra State. He also said that they had just wedded 5 weeks ago adding that the woman was about 7 months pregnant but wasn't sure if it was the phone conversation that actually led to the tragedy.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command, DSP Musa Majiya said that detectives had been deployed to the area for further investigation into the cause of the incident.
